Staff Profiles

Mike Carlson is a licensed CPA (State of Illinois) who used to work for one of the largest public accounting firms in Chicago in the 1980s.  He then spent 20+ years running a family business with his father and cousin that at its peak employed over 800 people throughout the US and Mexico with 60+ locations.  This business was successfully sold to a private equity group in 2009 and is substantially larger today due to the bolt-on acquisitions they were able to do to our base platform.

Carlson is also a CFP®, Enrolled Agent (IRS Designation) and has multiple other credentials.  Further, he earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 with an emphasis in Marketing.  Accordingly, he has a broad business background and understands both the finance side of the business and other key components of running a successful business.
